The dual-bay Dyad™ cycler adds ease-of-use features such as a window-driven interface, point-and-click programming, real-time temperature graphs and a high-density color display to the range of compatible options for tens of thousands of DNA Engine system owners. The system maintains the well-accepted thermal performance of the DNA Engine family of cyclers, while offering a wider variety of choices in capacity, networking protocols, and user interface.


Featuring world-class thermal performance, the Dyad™ also boasts graphical programming and a color display, as well as point-and-click navigation via touch pad or mouse. The Dyad can be easily and economically expanded to a four-bay system with the addition of a Dyad Disciple™ thermal cycler.


  • Dual-bay cycler accommodates any combination of more than ten different Alpha™ sample blocks, with an incredibly small footprint; the internal power supply requires 200-240 V
  • Ethernet capability allows instant updating of new software features
  • Expandable with a Dyad Disciple cycler to a four-bay system under full control of the Dyad user software, capable of running up to eight independently controlled blocks (when equipped with four Dual Alpha™ blocks)

All DNA Engine family thermal cyclers offer interchangeable sample blocks, unprecedented thermal performance, and operational controls that facilitate incorporation of these cyclers into a variety of laboratory environments, including automated settings.

    • Superb thermal accuracy, average temperature across sample block within Âą0.3°C of NIST standard at 90°C, (Âą0.4°C for dual-block Alpha units)
    • Thermal range of 0°C to 105°C (4°C to 100°C for Slide Chambers™ unit)
    • Rapid ramp rates of up to 3.0°C/sec
  • Operation
    • Two thermal control options: block control or calculated control
    • Choice of two heated-lid designs that accommodate many vessel types and various sealing options, allowing maximum flexibility in experimental designs—heated lid temperatures can be set with any DNA Engine instrument
      • Manual Hot BonnetŽ heated lid with a unique thumbwheel for adjusting height and pressure
      • Moto Alpha™ units can be remotely commanded to open, close, and adjust height and pressure—alternatively, they may be opened and closed with the touch of a button for highly repeatable sealing
